Of the two mattress felts we make, this is the rigid one. Where namda and soft felt is built to flex, hard cotton felt is built to hold its shape under load — that’s the whole point of it. Placed between the spring unit and the comfort layers, it insulates the springs, distributes load and keeps the mattress dimensionally stable for years, not months.
Where it sits in the mattress
In both bonnel-spring and pocketed-spring constructions the felt forms the insulating layer directly above and below the spring core — under the high-density foam, memory foam and quilt. This is what stops you from feeling individual springs and what helps the mattress keep its shape.

GSM, width and thickness are set by the mattress type and target firmness, not picked from a catalogue. Tell us both and we’ll recommend the weight — supplied as rolls or cut sheets.
